A day after the Opposition ridiculed Prime Minister on his “cloud cover” remark regarding Balakot Air Strikes, PM Modi has found himself at the flak of the opposition, media and Twitter.
In an interview with News Nation, PM Modi had said, “I first used a digital camera in 1987-88, and at the time, very few people had email. There was a rally of L K Advani and I clicked a picture of him on my camera... I had it that time. Then I transmitted the photo to Delhi, and the photo was published in colour the next day. Advaniji was surprised.”
Taking a dig at BJP’s campaign tagline ‘Modi Hai to Mumkin Hai’, Congress kick-started the hashtag ‘Cloudy Modi’ and tweeted, “Facts: 1st portable #DigitalCamera was sold in Japan in 1989. VSNL started #Internet services in India in 1995.
Taking a dig at PM Modi, CPM said that Modi's remarks would qualify for a “great joke.” CPM General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury said, “This is the latest in the long series of delusional assertions, fudged claims and brazen lies uttered by Modi. These would make for a great joke if the matter was not so serious involving the post of PM.”
Modi had, in the same interview, also said he relied on “raw wisdom” to urge the Indian Air Force to undertake the air strikes in Balakot under the cover of clouds to escape Pakistani radars.
